Terms of Service
Last updated 2026-08-27.
1. Who these terms apply to
BrightEleven is operated by TechRock Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (company no. 15719754), London, UK. These terms are between you (the parent or guardian who creates a BrightEleven account) and TechRock Ltd. Children do not hold their own account - a child profile is created and managed by the parent, who consents to its creation and remains responsible for it.
2. Closed beta: free access, no billing yet
BrightEleven is currently in closed beta. No payment is collected from anyone - every account gets full access completely free, with no card required at signup, until 30 September 2026.
Once this closed beta period ends, paid plans will open. We will email every account holder in advance of that happening. The plans will be:
- Annual - £49.99/year, auto-renewing each year unless cancelled. A reminder email will be sent before each renewal charge.
- Monthly - £7.99/month, auto-renewing each month unless cancelled.
Both plans will include up to 3 child profiles and cancel any time with no minimum term. Cancelling will stop future billing immediately - you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for, and you're never charged again after that.
3. What happens when the beta ends
If you haven't subscribed to a paid plan by 13 September 2026, your dashboard remains visible on a read-only basis and practice is paused. Nothing is deleted - your account and your child's progress are kept exactly as they are, ready to pick up again once you subscribe.
4. Your right to cancel (cooling-off period)
As a UK consumer, you have a statutory 14-day cooling-off period from the date of any purchase, during which you may cancel for a full refund. Outside of this period, self-serve cancellation is available at any time from your billing page and takes effect immediately, as described in Section 2.
5. Acceptable use
Accounts are for personal, family use. You agree not to attempt to circumvent trial or content restrictions, share login credentials outside your household, or use the service in any way that could harm other users or the platform.
6. Content accuracy
We aim for every practice question to be accurate and age-appropriate. Some content, including practice question drafts, is generated with AI assistance as a starting point - every question then passes through a human draft → review → live workflow before it's shown to a child, and nothing goes live straight from AI or human authoring alone. If you spot an error, please report it - we treat content accuracy seriously and will correct or remove flagged questions.
7. AI features
Eva, our help assistant available to parents from the marketing site and parent dashboard, is powered by an AI language model. Eva is not available on any child-facing screen. Like any AI assistant, its responses may occasionally be incomplete or imperfect - Eva is provided for general guidance only and is not a substitute for contacting us directly about your account.
Adaptive practice difficulty (which questions a child sees next, based on their own answers) is determined automatically by an algorithm, not manually by a person for each child. See our privacy policy for more detail on this and other automated processing.
8. Liability
BrightEleven is provided as an educational practice tool to support exam preparation - it is not a guarantee of any particular exam outcome. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before a claim, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any right you have under UK consumer protection law that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded by agreement, including your rights under Section 4 above.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes that affect your existing subscription will be notified by email in advance.
