What we never do

Trust is easier to check than to claim. This page gathers every commitment we make elsewhere on the site - in the child privacy notice, the terms and the pricing page - so you can read them in one place, and it ends with the company details you can check us against. Nothing here is a plan or an intention: each line describes how BrightEleven works today.

On a child's screen

Quoted word for word from the child privacy notice:

  • No advertising to children, ever
  • No third-party tracking, analytics or error-reporting scripts on any screen a child uses - a child's browser talks only to BrightEleven. The one thing that can change that is optional and off unless a family switches it on: the read-aloud voice, which is downloaded from two content-delivery networks (jsDelivr and Hugging Face). That download is a plain file fetch - it carries no name, no account details and no learning data - and it only ever happens if read-aloud is switched on in your child's Settings. With read-aloud off, reading questions aloud uses the voice built into your browser and contacts no one.
  • No building of behavioural profiles from what a child gets right or wrong
  • No chat, messaging, or any way for a child to contact another user
  • No AI chat assistant on any child-facing screen - Eva, our help assistant, is only ever available to parents
  • No leaderboards or comparisons between different children's accounts
  • No dark patterns designed to keep a child engaged for longer than they'd choose themselves - and no reminder emails or notifications are ever sent to a child

Honest about the product

No reviews we cannot stand behind

You will find no reviews, star ratings, testimonials or pass rates on this site. The space for family quotes on our homepage is an empty list in our code, on purpose, until real families have given us real quotes and consented to our using them. Fake or paid-for reviews are illegal in the UK, and we would rather show nothing than something we cannot prove.

No pass rates, no forecasts

We publish no success percentages and make no claim about how many children passed. BrightEleven does not produce a standardised score or a pass prediction for anyone: a parent sees a readiness band and a topic breakdown, never a number dressed up as a forecast.

Children never see a mock score

A child's mock results screen shows that they finished, what to work on next and encouragement - no score, no marks out of fifty, no pass or fail. The score and the per-topic breakdown are shown to the parent.

No pressure mechanics

There is no countdown, no "offer ends soon" and no "most popular" badge anywhere on this site. In the app, a mock paper has a timer because the real test does - it stays the same plain colour to the last second and never flashes or turns red. There are no leaderboards, no comparisons between children, and no message ever tells a child they are about to lose something.

Every question independently checked

Every question is independently checked before it goes live - a verifier re-derives the answer without trusting the author or the generator, and nothing is published straight from an author or an AI.

No chatbot for children

Eva, our help assistant, is available to parents and visitors on the public site only. There is no chat assistant, and nothing a child can type freely to anyone, on any child-facing screen - permanently, by design.

Honest about money

Prices stated in full

Plans are £7.99/month or £49.99/year. Up to 3 child profiles included on every plan - that's the family plan. The price shown is the full price - nothing is added at checkout.

No trial mechanics

There's no trial period: you pay upfront, and the 14-day full refund is your risk-free period.

Cancel yourself, any time

Cancel any time, no minimum term - you keep access to the end of what you've paid for. Cancelling is self-serve from your billing page: it stops future billing immediately, and you're never charged again after that. No phone call and no email needed.

A refund you are entitled to

Try it for 14 days - full refund if it's not for you. The 14-day full refund is your statutory UK cooling-off right - we just say it out loud. The annual plan also carries a 30-day money-back guarantee on top of the 14 days - handled by a person, on request.

Where things stand today

We're in our free beta - every family has full access free until 30 September 2026, and paid plans open on 1 October 2026. We'll email every account holder before then.

The full wording is on the pricing page and in the terms.
